DR. JÚLIA KIRST
Meet our team
Dr. Júlia Kirst is a Brazilian-American cultural anthropologist who has been living between countries and cultures since birth. In the U.S. permanently since 1997, she holds a B.A. from Saint Olaf College, a Master's from Harvard University, and a Doctorate from Brandeis University.
After a long career teaching at American colleges and universities, she turned to independent work with individuals and organizations whose success depends on being understood and valued in the United States.
In May of 2022, Dr. Kirst published "What the United States Wants: The Essential Roadmap for International Candidates Applying for Study, Work, and Visa Opportunities." The book is expanding our reach to many other countries and to libraries across the United States.
In April 2023, Dr. Kirst launched a series of online courses that teach candidates how to create their own documents and prepare for interviews. The entire series is called "Your Life In the United States."
This year, 2024, Dr. Kirst is adding a new service: Career and College Counseling for young people from around the world looking to apply to colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. European universities will soon be in the mix, too.
